In this project, I set out to create a faithful digital replica of this legendary blade \u2014 focusing on accurate modeling, detailed UV unwrapping, realistic texturing, and cinematic rendering. I began by referencing official Warhammer 40K artwork and miniatures to capture the proportions and overall silhouette of the sword. Using Inventor\u2019s parametric modeling capabilities allowed me to achieve a clean and symmetrical geometry, especially important for the blade\u2019s balance and fine edge transitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1470\" height=\"692\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kemalkorkmaz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Sword_for_blog.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2028\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.kemalkorkmaz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Sword_for_blog.jpg 1470w, https:\/\/www.kemalkorkmaz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Sword_for_blog-768x362.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.kemalkorkmaz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Sword_for_blog-1140x537.jpg 1140w, https:\/\/www.kemalkorkmaz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Sword_for_blog-848x399.jpg 848w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1470px) 100vw, 1470px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here, the sword model has been imported into <em>3ds Max<\/em> for <strong>UV unwrapping<\/strong>. This step involves flattening the 3D surface of the model into a 2D layout so that textures can be applied accurately later. The checkered pattern visible on the model is used to verify that all UV islands are evenly scaled and aligned. Clean UVs ensure that details like scratches, engravings, and metal wear appear correctly in the final texture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This side view further demonstrates the unwrapping process. By adjusting the UV seams and optimizing island placement, I ensured minimal stretching across the blade and guard. Realistic metal materials, engraved runes, and subtle wear effects were added to bring the weapon to life. The \u201cIMPERATOR REX\u201d inscription was carefully embossed using custom alphas, and the leather wrapping on the handle was created using procedural materials. Lighting and camera settings in iRay were adjusted to emphasize the heroic and sacred presence of the Emperor\u2019s Champion\u2019s blade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through this workflow from <em>Inventor<\/em> modeling to <em>3ds Max<\/em> unwrapping and <em>Substance Painter<\/em> rendering. I was able to recreate the Emperor\u2019s Champion Sword with both technical precision and artistic authenticity.
