Black Templars Cathedral Sanctum

Black Templars Cathedral Sanctum
Modeled in: Autodesk 3ds Max | Source: Inspired by Andrea1969’s Black Templars Cathedral Sanctum concept
This work-in-progress clay render showcases the modeling stage of a Black Templars-inspired cathedral sanctum, exploring the fusion of monumental Gothic architecture and the grimdark visual language of the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Developed in Autodesk 3ds Max, the project focuses on architectural composition, structural hierarchy, and intricate hard-surface detailing.
Particular attention was given to cathedral proportions, vaulted architectural forms, layered buttresses, ornamental Gothic elements, and the balance between fortress-like construction and sacred ceremonial spaces. The study explores how monumental architectural features can communicate scale, authority, and atmosphere while remaining structurally believable.
This clay presentation highlights form development, geometric precision, and surface continuity before materials, texturing, lighting, and final rendering. It allows the architectural composition, intricate detailing, and overall design language to remain the primary focus of the study.
