Prototype for Fiat : “Waterdrop” Clay Model

Prototype for Fiat “Waterdrop” Clay Model

The Waterdrop is a compact concept vehicle originally developed by Fiat as an educational transportation design intended for youth traffic awareness and safety programs. This 3D clay modeling study recreates the vehicle’s distinctive aerodynamic form while focusing on proportion, surface continuity, and clean automotive design language.
Particular attention was given to body curvature, wheel integration, panel flow, and the relationship between simplicity and functionality. The project explores how minimal geometric forms can communicate safety, approachability, and efficient urban mobility while maintaining a recognizable automotive identity.
The clay presentation highlights form development, surface refinement, and construction logic without the influence of materials, reflections, or textures. By focusing exclusively on geometry, the vehicle’s proportions, silhouette, and design intent remain the primary focus of the study.
Original Fiat Waterdrop concept design belongs to Fiat and its respective rights holders.
