Mercedes W221 Rim Model
Modeled in: 3ds Max | Unwrapped & Rendered in: 3ds Max | Source: Mercedes S63 AMG W221 Wheel Design
This 3D modeling study presents the wheel design used on the Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG (W221), a luxury performance sedan recognized for combining executive-class refinement with AMG engineering. Developed entirely in 3ds Max, the project focuses on accurately recreating the wheel’s five-spoke architecture, proportions, hub details, brake assembly integration, and overall design language.
Particular attention was given to spoke geometry, rim depth, center hub construction, brake disc detailing, caliper placement, and surface continuity. The study investigates how automotive wheel and braking components interact visually and structurally while preserving the premium and performance-oriented character associated with Mercedes-AMG vehicles.
The clay presentation highlights form development, geometric accuracy, and surface continuity without the influence of materials, reflections, or textures. This allows the wheel’s construction logic, spoke architecture, brake system integration, and overall silhouette to remain the primary focus of the study.
