“Oxidized Brass Test Shader” showcases the transition of brass from pristine alloy to richly patinated surface. Using 3ds Max for modeling, the statue was then unwrapped and textured in Substance Painter, and finally rendered in iRay to explore realistic material aging. The clay base allows the geometry to remain unobscured, while the subsequent texturing brings forward fine streaks, mottled color shifts, and micro-imperfections that mimic natural oxidation. The result is a precisely crafted visual study of how metals age with character—adding authenticity and depth to digital materials.
