Spiderbot clay render showcasing industrial robot design, articulated mechanical legs, hard-surface detailing, and science-fiction asset development, created in Autodesk 3ds Max.

Spiderbot Common Fixations & Upgrades

Modeled in: Autodesk 3ds Max | Base Asset: Adobe Substance Painter Tutorial Series (Spiderbot practice model)

This work-in-progress project documents the refinement of a Spiderbot practice asset originally released as part of Adobe’s Substance Painter tutorial series. Developed in Autodesk 3ds Max, the study focuses on topology cleanup, geometry optimization, structural refinement, and preparation for a production-ready hard-surface workflow.

Particular attention was given to correcting proportions, improving edge flow, refining mechanical components, and strengthening the visual balance of the model while preserving the original design language established by the base asset.

This clay presentation highlights the optimization phase of the project, showcasing geometry improvements, surface refinement, and structural adjustments completed before texturing, materials, and final rendering.
