Black Templars Land Raider

The Land Raider study focuses on the engineering logic behind one of Warhammer 40,000’s most recognizable armored vehicles. Particular attention was given to armor panel construction, turret integration, track assembly, mechanical layering, and the balance between industrial functionality and gothic visual language. The project served as an exercise in translating a complex tabletop miniature into a clean, production-oriented hard-surface model while preserving its iconic silhouette and distinctive design character.

This Land Raider Crusader study explores the engineering evolution of one of Warhammer 40,000’s most iconic armored vehicles. Developed as a hard-surface modeling exercise, the project focuses on armored panel construction, weapon integration, mechanical layering, and structural refinement while preserving the distinctive gothic-industrial character that defines the Land Raider design.

This Warhammer Land Raider study explores the engineering language of one of the Warhammer 40,000 universe’s most recognizable armored vehicles. Starting from the Andrea1969 base asset, the project focuses on CAD refinement, structural improvements, and presentation rendering while preserving the vehicle’s iconic silhouette and battlefield presence.
Particular attention was given to armor panel construction, turret integration, track assembly, mechanical detailing, and the hierarchy of large-scale hard-surface forms. The study examines how engineering-inspired design principles combine with gothic science-fiction aesthetics to create a believable and visually imposing military vehicle.
The clay presentation highlights geometry, construction logic, and surface continuity without the distraction of materials or textures, allowing the vehicle’s proportions and mechanical complexity to remain the primary focus. The project serves as a hard-surface modeling and presentation study developed in Autodesk Inventor and refined in 3ds Max.
